Default Vitamin D and Sex Drive?

I figured this was the best place to post as I am wanting a woman`s opinion. Here is my story.

My wife has PCOS and here hormones are really out of line. This causes a very low sex drive. Her DHEA levels are higher than normal. The last 3 months she has been taking a Vitamin D3 supplement. I broke my leg and the doctor prescribed me this to help with the bone healing process. After looking into it and some of the symptoms of low Vitamin D she thought she would get some to help her to.

She has been taking this now about 3 months. About the last month her sex drive is now on par with mine and is a nice change.

I guess I am asking if any of you women have experienced this as well?

If not is there anything else that has improved your sex drive?

My pheromone mixes have been hitting her a lot harder to due to this also.

Default Re: Vitamin D and Sex Drive?

It could be...

I remember that on my first winter here in Europe my libido went down pretty bad and as soon as the spring started (more sun exposure / more vitamin D production) my sex life got better again. This happened a few years in a row untill I got my first baby (in winter) and the doctor explained me that he had to take vitamin D untill the summer because it was important for the bones and that I (as a latina, used to the sun) actually should also take it too to avoid any temporary "winter depression". Apparently many people suffer from that during the cold times.

Anyway, since then I take vitamin D during autumn and winter and indeed my good mood got more stable during that time, which probably has an effect on the libido...

Wow thank you for sharing your story Brasileira. Yeah after doing some research this is actually pretty common both men and in women. Women`s bodies are much more complex with all the hormones and so on, so it is even more important for a woman I think.

What is weird to is when I use to take DHEA in very low doses 5MG for a daily supplement and I felt amazing. Most women I have known to take DHEA it really messes them up and causes there hormones to just go crazy. Even healthy and pretty normal women in there 40`s. I am just very intrigued by all of this.

Default Re: Vitamin D and Sex Drive?

Interesting.

I have been taking Vitamin D3 for the last month and a half or so. I don't think it affects my sex drive.

What I do think makes my sex drive higher is a few things: eating healthy, working out a lot, eating dark chocolate, fish, dark leafy greens, and drinking red wine, taking some maca root, using ylang ylang essential oil, & semen retention.

I tend to always want sex, but I find that the carnal, animalistic desire that makes me aggressive in the bedroom and satisfies the lady most is, believe it or not, when I purposely go a few days without relieving myself.

Women? I don't know though. The essential oil is EXTREMELY recommended (I had a 19 year old in my house who has NEVER EVEN SEEN a penis before practically beg me for it after I had some diffusing right next to her--it's what I used to imagine TUTH would be like), and I'm sure food intake and exercise affects it as well.

I don't know about the chemistry between Vitamin D3 and the female anatomy, but I know, as a man, it doesn't really affect my sex drive at all.

Default Re: Vitamin D and Sex Drive?

Wow, I just made an Essential Oil/Hedione blend based on Ylang Ylang to. I am letting it setup 1 more day to mix with the little bit of PA and the Hedione.

I plan on wearing it like A314 kind of with my spray pheros. I will post about it in my journal. My wife like the Ylang oil a lot to and for me is a nice balance of this one oil and is very unique. This one and the Patchouli seem to have a lingering effect in the nose and just sticks there. Do you have experience with other Oils lakermen34? If so I am looking for new ones to test and make new formulas.

I have a Kama Sutra blend of Jasmine, Orange, Neroli , and Rose oil. Patchouli is very good but it is kind of an acquired scent. Then there is Ylang which I really like and at least 80% of the people men and women love this.

I have found all of these ok directly used on the skin diluted down. I was using DPG , but then Conjurator suggested using some PA to really get the Hedione to diffuse. Instead of cutting with DPG I used 7.5% PA and used mainly Hedione and the Ylang oil.

I am always coming up with these crazy ideas and am trying to find a complete package that is very unique. I have messed up a lot of formulas, but I sure have fun with it.

I tried to mix pheromones in the same bottle and it was a mess. I learned real quick on what not to do LOL.

I even have been making my soap and didn't realize how easy it can be if you get a soap mold and a good base. I might switch to a glycerin base as it draws in moisture from the air which might work good with the pheros. I made a soap with Patchouli and it works really well and Patchouli is really good for the skin. I used a hair to much and it is a little over drying so I may end up throwing it out or trying it with the glycerin base.

I know I am kind of going into the deep end here with a lot of this. It is just so intriguing how scent and these things work to attract people men and women.

I do believe in a complete approach to all of your goals. I am finally getting where the oil is dialed in and the soap I have a way to go.

I know this is a phero board and is meant for that. I think health and be happy is a big key here. I believe this along with mood and immune system have a huge profound impact on our own natural pheromone production. A good example is when I was taking just 5MG of DHEA daily I could use 2 sprays of Ammo 1X and get the same results as now I am not taking DHEA and now it takes me 3-4 sprays of Ammo 1X to get the same results.

So yes being healthy and fit is very important especially as we get older it is even more important.

While the pheromones work great I find sometimes I still have to work at making things great with my wife. Not only sexually, but in every aspect of our marriage. I see so many posts where new members are looking to spice things up in the bedroom and that it has got stale in the marriage. One big thing I have learned is really taking time to learn a woman's needs. Sometimes those $10 Wal Mart of dozen roses goes a long way and really sets the stage for my pheromone setup to work wonders.

Women want to feel special and they act on emotions. Even dating doing something unique to them will really set the stage for anything you want. I forget sometimes to listen to a woman's needs and my pheromone setup is a waste. This is important in dating to. Sometimes I get so wrapped up in finding a perfect soap, oil blend, or pheromone setup that I don`t pay attention to what they want.

I think the pheromones are a tool to assist in your goals. I still have a lot to learn and am always trying new things. Women are so much more complex than men, but at the same time they can be simple to like a simple compliment, or doing something to make them feel special is all it takes to get things to where you want them to be.

I was just curious if other women have experienced things like this with being vitamin deficiency. Here I have been trying everything to get my wife turned on and if I known earlier on that something as simple as an $6 bottle of D3 would have made a night and day difference I would have done this a long time ago.

Thank you for remembering to care about the small things- those compliments go so far!

You're not far off in your suggestions... the active metabolite of Vit D is a steroid hormone- steroid hormones are and can be used as signaling hormones for sex hormones.

http://www.reproduction-online.org/c...144/2/135.long

Granted this study looks at sperm motility and morphology as an indicator of fertility-- but wouldn't you want to spread your seed if it's good seed? I mean... it's only logic.

"The findings described earlier indicate that most of the VD-mediated effects in the testis and male reproductive tract are mediated through estrogen synthesis or aberrant expression of ER"

This can be confusing the same hormone that makes women horny is the same one that decreases their libido: - too much steady daily estrogen and women on the pill lose their drive- a sudden increase and we are horny as fuck (ovulation). It's the highs and lows that get women going- so I imagine with Vit D deficiency we are too chronically low and not having the "surge" to get horny. Just an educated guess?

Default Re: Vitamin D and Sex Drive?

Vitamin D is also necessary for calcium absorption and a calcium deficiency could cause a reduced libido in women. Calcium is a key role in cellular function (calcium channels) and is said to be related to production of testosterone.

Calcium deficiency worsens as women age because of menopause. Furthermore, acidic foods exasperate the issue as they make the stomach too acidic and the only means for the body to reduce this acidity is to remove calcium from the bones through osteoclasts, because Calcium is alkaline, helping to neutralize the acidity.
Acidic foods include sugars, meats, dairy products, processed foods, and refined grains mostly.

Vitamin D shouldn't affect your libido unless you have a deficiency.

As for the EO thing, I totally agree. I've been playing with an EO mix of Ylang, sweet orange, black pepper, vetiver, jasmine, and hedione and I feel I get far more attraction from these than pheromones most of the time. But they appear to lack in raw sexuality once sex actually starts.

Vitamin D deficiencies will generally result in extreme lethargy and low energy levels - hardly the things you want to have if you're looking to have sex!

I would imagine that being on a supplement could help if it brings her overall energy levels up!
