I guess that is because I have the bodylanguage of an extravert. I make lots of eyecontact and move very freely when I dance but make very few unnecessary movements, I also wear bright colours a lot and have a very expressive face.

I was very very shy and socailly awkward as a child and teenager, but I have learned social skills very well and no longer feel any kind of discomfort in social situations at all. I stopped worrying about what other people would think and what I should do and started thinking about how they might feel and simply enjoying myself and sharing my pleasure. Because I know what it is like to be the person who feels alone at a party, I'll be the first to talk to the girl who is too shy to talk to other people. That said, I don't usually approach others, it is hard for me and my body language draws them in more easily. I also really like to analyse social interaction and test my theories out there. I need time on my own to work out my theories and assimilate what I have learned and also to think about my feelings for other people and what they mean to me.

I read some more descriptions and am pretty sure I'm an INFP, but may have started my life as an INTP. In any case, I am a feeler who can show her feelings and explain them in a very rational way to a thinker. My close friends are mostly thinkers.

Both IS/A and IS/B work for me.

Hey, I'm an INFP too!

It is also important to remember that everyone uses both sides occasionally, it all has to do with your preference for one or the other. For example someone could be in the middle, in between introvert or extrovert but will still show a slight preference for one of them. Some are stronger extroverts than others for example.

Here are some key words too that describe the difference with Thinkers and Feelers:

Thinkers vs. Feelers

Objective...........Subjective
Firm-minded.......Tenderhearted
Laws.................Circumstances
Firmness...........Persuasion
Just..................Humane
Clarity..............Harmony
Analytical..........Appreciative
Policy...............Social Values
Detached...........Involved

Cool that you are also an INFP!

Thanks for the description. I think I am almost 50/50 on the thinking/feeling spectrum, though when I read ideal jobs and circumstances, I think those for INFP suit me more, I'm happier when I can have a feelers perspective a bit more often than the thinker's perspective.

Are you close to center on your traits, or more extreme?

MuskCloud is first person here that I can really identify with. I am supposedly an ENFP "champion". I am NOT extroverted. I very much prefer to be alone (with my mushrooms) under the cover of darkness. What I am is uninhibited.

I don't feel the need to be cool. On my good days, if i was any cooler it would be obnoxious.

I don't feel the need to 'command' respect. The people who really know me honestly respect me. The rest will just have to figure it out for themselves on both counts.

I had a manager who used this meyrs test to make me a deparment supervisor. Bad Idea. My people loved me. (and I them) The VP and CEO could have been called Fear and Loathing. You can guess where that went.

I don't know about the pheros yet but I'll letcha know.

All I really want is to find an uninhibited foodie chick to cook with who wants to imbibe in all the sensual pleasures. About once a month. Well OK, maybe twice a month.

I'll get back to ya later with more details.

Gotta love ya, Ooo

Do you think you are more introspective or is your focus more on events happening in the outer world around you?

You sound fairly introspective from your post.

So you are soooo cool naturally.....is that with using P74 or without it?

I am really looking forward to hearing about your details....

Did you take the LONG version of the test or the shortie 70 question test? The long version gives much clearer results and is administered (usually or hopefully or should be) by someone who knows what they are doing.

Have all of you noticed that there are more "NF" folks who are interested in this? I will have to go back and look but I do not think I saw any "SJ"'s - Have any of you? This fits with out NF profile....

Basically external oriented. Not so much events as the ideas and processes the world operates with and the way it is all referenced by/to other times and places. I am open to the possibility that all kinds of eclectic ideas may be true but i try to use some discernment in the understandings that i choose to use as my compass. I am even willing to go so far as accept the possible validity of a bizzare reptilian instinctual behavior that postulates hormonal respose to a stimulus as ephemeral as an aroma.

PS What's P74 got to do with it?

I'm INFJ. Was INTJ growing up, but in the past five years, my F took over! I do well with a bit of TAL . I feel the most centered with mx274 and a bit of IS/A.

Look forward to your spreadsheet. Seems like we are at least 80% _N_P. Almost all _N__.

So what pheromones would you recommend for us, good doctor?

I thought that was interesting....that we are almost all N.

I wonder if this forum is made up of mostly N's. It is hard for me to imagine too many SJ's open to experience something that is still theoretical in humans.

Working on putting my info together.
