Bang and Olufson is far over priced. Back in the day they made some terrific turntables at a reasonable prices, and the B&O style is sleek and contemporary, but there are better equipment choices for the money,

Quality wise, B&O electronics are on par with the Pioneer Elite and Sony ES series, which can be had for a fraction of the money. Their speakers look really cool, but again if quality is what you're looking for, there are better choices for the money.

If the main concern is appearance and you like a contemporary look, then B&O wins hands down, but if you don't really care what your equipment looks like, but more about accurate music reproduction and hearing every nuance, there are better choices for the money.

Painful Truth: all of the mass market brands put most of their manufacturing $$$ into cosmetics... I saw an industy newsletter breakout (actually a pie chart) of how much went into the shipping material, how much into the casework, and how much for the internal parts.... the formula is a mass market product cannot devote more than about 15% of their build budget to parts quality, because if the cosmetics aren't perfect, the product won't sell... (The general public is that gullible ? .... yes, they are....)

You never hear about the really great stuff because they use their money for parts and labor instead of massive public relations and advertising campaigns... magazines, etc. have this grotesque pretense of being "objective" when they're being paid off hand over fist to promote mediocrity and crap....

Painful Truth #2: mediocre crap at the sensory level affects your mind and results, slowly but surely, in mediocre crap at the emotional-cognitive level, which eventually results in mediocre crap at the existential level....

Painful Truth #3: the "media" are not there to tell you the truth, the "media" are fundamentally employees of large, well capitalized, agenda driven business interests. This means if you want to get the real story on almost any subject you have to do a hell of a lot of research, ask many questions, have a minset that is both highly critical and unusually open minded (a paradox, I know, but one worth cultivating) and you have to have the tenacity of a bulldog. You are being lied to in a thousand subtle ways every day, not in some deep creepy world dominating way, only that essential facts or reference points are conveniently omitted, you attention is being spun left or spun right.... which leads us to...

Painful Truth #4: if you don't do the homework and own your own mind and arrive at your own conclusions, you can be 100% guaranteed someone else will. Your consciousness is a tool in a political and economic universe. You either learn how to use this tool or you will be the tool for someone else. Brutal and simple and darwinian...

Several high end audio manufactures use vacuum tubes in their power amplifiers. The general consensus amoung audiophiles is that the sound is sweeter. Although I prefer the sound of a good transister amp myself, as I believe the transient response is faster.

With my 45 year old ears, I'm not able to discern the subtle differences between amps like I could when I was 25 though.

There are actually a couple of high end audio manufactures coming out of the Chch Republic now, or at least there were 6 or 7 years ago. They arose from the dust of old Soviet war machine factories.

btw... here's another thing we're playing around with....

Clarus – Transphase Scientific

They make devices called Clarus Clocks which have a concealed emitter. The underlying hypothesis (which is said to have derived from the meso-physics of the russian, Lev Landau.... "meso" meaning at the boundary condition between newtonian and quantum processes)...

Landau and others have assumed that electrons can spin in more complex patterns than previously recognized (their term "elastic" versus "inelastic")... and from that they believe that subtle magnetic fields propogated by elastic electrons have distinct biological differences from fields propogated by inelastic electrons... my own conversations with the physicist Jack Bybee who designed electron filters for the US Navy submarine warfare program indicate that this is probably true, and these differences are substantial enough to matter in submarine detection technology....

Having said that, the Clarus devices DO seem to instill or evoke some low level, yet significant difference in the two Devices Under Test (her brain and mine) when we compare "in field" sexuous mentations versus "no field" sexuous mentations....

Very interesting Tacitus. After looking over the website, technology, reading some of the research articles and reviews, I may have to try one of the pendants or bracelets.

I'm guessing that you're a physicist or scientific engineer. I am not, but the scientific basis makes sense. Although I don't quite understand how they are able to achieve the SRT result and effect in the consumer products, unless the metals are somehow charged (optimized) electrically, magnetically, through Radiation.

Curious though, would the resonant pattern remain stant or degrade back to an original state over a period of time?

Next phase, realignment of inner atomic spin patterns to create massive amounts of energy or weapons

The Q-Links weren't strong enough... I got the largest Clarus Clock, with the 50 foot field radius, and goosed it with Bybee Quantum filters... then we were definitely cooking on the vibratory plane... obviously there is a strong vibratory-energetic component... shamanism may be distinguished as a different vibratory configuration from ordinary consensus reality participation ? For instance, when I hand modified some already fine speakers and had a total AAA source, preamplifier, amp etc. set... I could sit on the floor in meditation mode in front of the speakers and "hear deep" into the recordings.... way, way, way deeper than the average experience, so this was like physically being inside the king's chamber of the great pyramid, there was sufficient vibratory detail to inhabit that experience on a meditative plane, or be sitting among the Gyuto monks... this sort of extended into the erotic realm when I realized that most people were having "lo rez sex" and didn't know it... all this dull, dreary mechanical humping with a tiny smidgen of consciousness.... all too blah...

Wait, is this an amplifier or speaker cabinet that you painted? Speaker cabinet I can believe because the resonance of the wood can affect greatly the speaker, but the chassis of an amp imparts nothing on the sound unless the chassis is metal and is being used as a ground. Painting an amp chassis has about the same effectiveness of buying $5000 speaker wire or claiming that drawing on the edge of cds with a black felt marker increases sound quality.

Tacitus, was that a guitar amp with an integrated speaker? And if not, was the amp sitting near other equipment that could have been generating EMI and the paint somehow reflected that interferece?

Cause I would otherwise have to agree with martyk that paint applied to the metal chasis of an amplifier or other electronic equipment cannot effect the electrical signal output, unlkess applied to the connecters, in which case the sound quality should actually suffer.
