Hello everyone,

Im new to this pheromone thing and i have been for looking some scientifically sound evidence or research that credits pheromones and its use.

Does anyone have any links or other information, preferebly from a third person source, with research or scientific facts to credit pheromones and the use suggested in this forum? This info would be greatly appreciated!!!

I think the most obvious proof that human pheromones (Surley theres no doubt that other mammals produce pheromones?) work is that a woman's sense of smell is heightened during the first half of her menstrual cycle and peaks when she is most fertile.

At first for me I wasn't skeptical that human pheromones exist but more cynical that synthetic pheromones could be produced to mimic human pheromones. I then read that the contraceptive pill taken by woman works by using two syntheic hormones: oestrogen and progestogen which stop ovulation. Considering Pheromones are hormonal secretions and that synthetic hormones can supress ovulation then why can't synthetic pheromones be used to communicate what ever the desired effect may be? The answer is they can but the proof is really in the pudding, you have to see them working for yourself before you trully believe in them.

The difference between how Pheromones "work" for humans compared to a less complex species is that Pheromones in insects for example trigger a natural behavioral response. In humans pheromones are simply a form of communication, they send messages that can influence others but not trigger robotic responses.

Actually many human pheromones are produced on the skin when bacteria breaks down sweat. While there are some "ready made" pheromones in urine, saliva and vaginal secretions, most commercial products mimic skin pheromones.

Thats interesting, what determines the sexual male/female nature of the pheromones? None, Androsterone and Cops must be hormone secretions? Nols are gender neutral so I supose they could be bacteria in sweat and more often than not washed down the plughole. Are pheromones and hormones similar in chemical structure? I read None was a breakdown of testosterone similar to how DHT is also a breakdown of testosterone.

There was a thread on here not so long ago about someones sweet spot changing because of muscles he had gained. Do you think that is because he changed his hormone balance and therefore his natural pheromone signature?

The google scholar search engine will bring up scholarly sources, primarily peer-reviewed journal articles and books.

The most abundant male skin pheromone is A-1 ( androstadienone ). As it ripens with bacterial action, it breaks down to androstenol and finally to androstenone. Dab some chemset androstenol in your armpits and give it a sniff a few hours later. Yep, the rank funk of androstenone.
