All right. For all you guys out there, and the lovely ladies too, you definitely know what I mean. You spray on some AMMO or 292 on your chest, wear a shirt go out etc. Week later, laundry day and you do your clothes. Comes out smelling fresh. Except for the chest area. It smells... funky. That funky -none sweat, foot smelling stench.

Now here's the thing. I don't really mind the smell. Kind of use to it. But I know enough asians and hang around enough to want to get rid of the smell as the smell can be disgusting to some asians. I use to use some bleach and regular detergent. Let it sit, mix a bit then add clothes. I've become less and less of a fan of bleach, so anyone have any methods or alternatives that they use and found effective for the first time through the cycle? The amount of bleach I use is very low and it generally takes 2 times for the smell to come out. Only use bleach to kill germs. I'd say I use about literally one ounce. The amount of a shot.

Here's what I've heard works:
Oxidizing agents (generally meaning bleach unless you work in a lab...)
Hydrogen peroxide (safe for clothes to soak in? Will it ruin colors or integrity of cloth?) This is also an oxidizing agent. Just wanted to be specific and see if it jacks up your clothes.

Also I suppose it doesn't help that the house I'm in uses extremely hard water. Sad face. Anyhow, like I said, suggestions, advice, tips on how to keep your clothes smelling -none free.

EDIT: Do you use powder or liquid detergent?

Ok, I learned to do laundry on my own. So the shit I do is probably really weird or bizarre. I generally toss all my clothes in a huge pile till its laundry day. If I got a huge stain on something, I TRY to soak it... most of the time I fail. To make up for that laziness, I usually try and let the clothes soak in the machine with detergent for a few minutes before I start the cycle. And what do I spray with? L O L. I must sound like a complete dumbass.

Future dentist... sigh.

Spray n wash is a product that you spray stains with before you put it in the wash. Well, I'm not sure about the -none, but at least it can help soak your stains before washing. The reason I asked about the type of detergent is because I always use the liquid concentrated stuff. I find it works better and lasts a lot longer because you use less. I've always used it and i never noticed a lingering -none smell after.

Actually a certain percentage of people don't smell 'nones as "funk". So alot of us are blissfully unaware of the problem.

Well, I don't really mind it. It's very subtle for me. Only time it became a problem was when I went HEAVY HEAVY -none and rewore the same shirt with MORE -none. YESSSSSSS. xD

Wow, that's a strong stench if it doesn't wash off even in the laundry! I never would have expected none to have such a cling to clothes!


But, seeing as Billy Mays has died, I'll dedicate this post to him.

TRY OXYCLEAN!

If it's anything, oxyclean will get rid of the stench. It works well on my clothes.

The best advice when it comes to any type of cleaning but especially laundry if you have any problems give your shirt to a women. Be it your girlfriend, sister etc no matter how badly it smells or stained they will have it cleaned looking as bright as the day you bought it and smelling like roses. And if your girlfriend kicks up a fuss asking why you do not do it, tell them it is good training for the day you marry them.

Oh and if your girlfriend is young do not worry genetic memory will take care of that. " Genetic memory describes a process in biology by which genetic material confers a memory of the species past history."

This means all the women who have been washing, scrubbing and cleaning for the past thousand or so years will be some where in your girlfriends genetic make up. Give her your shirt with trust and see her do magic with skills she was born to do. Lol
