Default Womens preference in men changes based on MHC Genes

Genetic-based dating finding your love using pheromones/mhc genes...

https://www.houstonchronicle.com/lif...A-12455521.php

"Genetic-based human attraction has to do with pheromones. And when we smell pheromones, what we're actually smelling is how diverse someone's immune system is compared to our own," Barreto explained, matter-of-factly.

Based on that quote from the article, the dating app appears to be using DNA testing to find MHC gene compatibility and those who would be best genetic matches. There has been proposed some possible evidence correlation between couples who have too similar MHC genes, and the rate of cheating in ovulating women. If this science is accurate then an dating app like this might help to find a more compatible partner in the first place.

Default Re: Genetic Dating to find true love using pheromones/mhc genes

When a woman is on the Pill, her odor preferences change. The Pill essentially mimics pregnancy, and when a woman is pregnant, she tends to prefer the scent of men with similar MHC as her own perhaps as a biological cue to now seek out and bond with supportive family members as opposed to potential mates.

What this means is that when you're taking a hormonal contraceptive, you interfere with your biology and risk producing a hormonal imbalance that might make you more attracted to men with similar chemical makeup.

If you were on the pill when you met your partner, you might, therefore, feel less attracted to him when you stop taking it.

"Choosing a non-hormonal barrier method of contraception for a few months before getting married might be one way for a woman to check or reassure herself that she's still attracted to her partner."

So unfortunately, Birth Control Pills can literally change the choice a woman makes of a long term partner which can have negative issues later... I would go off the pills before marriage temporarily if you met and dating only using them...

Phenylacetic acid appears to be another good candidate as a putative human pheromone and the main chemical signaler of MHC. Phenylacetic acid Molecular Weight is only 136.15 g/mol...

Phenylacetic acid was the sole identified acidic compound that was significantly different between the two groups with different MHCs.

Releaser pheromones can elicit a specific response, whereas signaler pheromones may only provide information, e.g., the type of genes that one possesses within the major histocompatibility complex. So Phenylacetic acid is likely a signaler pheromone.

We currently hypothesize that human odorprints will also be formed by ratios of organic acids in the axillae, urine, and other fluids.

mice with removed VNO continued to discriminate MHC‐based individuality among other mice (Wysocki et al., 2004).
