Default Do pheromones affect menstrual cycle and hormones?

Hi guys,

I just ordered a pheromone product and am wondering if it will affect or interfere with my menstrual cycle/hormones in anyway? What about Copulins?

Thanks

I do not believe that they will effect your menstrual cycle or hormones. I believe some of the female ones contain synthetic Copulins to attract males but they shouldn't affect or interfere with any of the stuff you mentioned. From what I have read Instant Sexiness contains trace amounts but it seems that most women on here are using Essence of Woman from love-scent which is pretty much pure couplins.

On a physiological level the use of pheromones will not effect your natural hormone production or function. Some hormones may spike now and then but its not a permanent thing and occurs with exposure to natural pheromones as well. For instance when women were tested by smelling the underarm area of mens dirty T-shirts their sexual hormones tend to spike causing a feeling of arousal and attraction. This is a natural neurological effect but it doesn't change your biology.

There have been studies on the synchronicity of woman's menstrual cycles within women living in groups. They suspect this has to do with copulin signaling.

Women who live together or spend time together daily have cycles that tend to slowly change until they all menstruate around the same time. I noticed this well before I ever saw the studies on the subject. I never experienced a drastic change in my period cause by mones use though.

Really it actually did affect your period? That interesting I figured that it shouldn't have any affect on the bodys functions.

I am speaking of the study of womens natural copulins. They did studies in college dorms tracking womens cycles which all occured at different times of the month when they arrived. By the end of the first year all there periods had slowly shifted to occur within the same week.

This is a natural response to real copulins not to synthetic copulins. Its reasonable to suspect with a good copulin formula worn all the time there could be fluctuations in womens cycles. Keep in mind stress and other factors can cause a change in cycle as well. This doesn't mean your bodies functions are changing they are moving with the natural rhythm of the environment. There may be some primal instinctual reason this occurs in our physiology thats not yet understood.

Thx everyone.

I was worried the pheromones would trick my body into ovulating or something similar, because I read that when women ovulate their pheromones/copulins are higher. Sry if this sounds really silly or dumb.

The only stupid question is the unasked question. Your just learning about mones and the only way to learn is to ask. Women make copulins all through there cycles. The acid content tends to rise during ovulation signaling your fertile time. Men know this smell. Not consciously its built into there instinctual side. When exposed there testosterone spikes by 150% and in turn they begin to emit more sex pheromones.

I know this sounds crude but we are mammals and its similar to when female mammals go into heat and the males respond to that smell.

Copulins wont trick your body into ovulation.

Alpha Androstenol in my research seems to be the cause of some change in menstrual cycle and a large contributor to early puberty in girls. There have been many links between father absence and earlier puberty in girls. I was able to find an article that pointed me to the idea that its the presence of a non biological male in the household and not the absence of a father...

Without Dad little girls grow up too fast

Looking into that further as to what might cause that, alpha androstenol has been found in studies to decrease luteinizing hormone (LH) pulse frequency during the follicular phase of the human menstrual cycle causing a change. Lutenizing Hormone is a pituitary hormone that triggers ovulation in a woman. There is no question on the many studies by different authors on this part.

https://academic.oup.com/biolreprod/...6/2107/2683595

https://academic.oup.com/chemse/article/25/4/465/342748

Married vs unmarried women had a difference
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20977093

A few other of the reported adjustments in cycles included: two days closer together over a four to six-month interval (McClintock, 1971) and a 1.4 day shortening (Stern & McClintock, 1998).

Luteinizing Hormone also is highly correlated with sex drive in women, it surges just prior to ovulation time when sex drive is highest. It also causes secretion of testosterone in men from the testicular Leydig cells. So Alpha Androstenol will also have effects in both women and men there from the increase in LH.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20646176

I dont see strong evidence yet however that this also means women sync up their cycles simply from the pulse change, only that there is definate effect on luteinizing hormone causing a change from the exposure to alpha androstenol , as well as has been shown to start puberty earlier from the effect on LH in mice, and based on that article probably in those who are non related. The amount of change should also vary further based on exposure timeframe.
