Default Creed Green Irish Tweed Prices...Too Good to be True?

Well the title says it all. Normally a 4 oz. bottle of Creed Green Irish Tweed typically retails for around $250. I do know for a fact there are legit online stores that sell the exact same product for $140. With that being said, I went to google and found places selling it for $90 etc.

I would like your opinion on these stores. Does it sound legit, etc?

Let me put it this way. At THAT price for a 4oz bottle, either its going to be a fake or it's going to be new old stock. That means that while it IS real and may even still be wrapped, it'll be old juice that may have lost some of its pizzaz. Not worth the risk either way, in my opinion. I believe Denec got a medioce bottle of GIT from FragranceNet even, which was one of the sites selling it at $140. If you don't want to pay that much for a cologne, i suggest you look into getting the 1oz bottle for now and save it for special occasions.

Thanks a lot Mr. Feel Good. I have no doubts about your reasoning in regards to the low prices. I have never tried this scent, but if I really like it, I would be more than happy to pay $140 for a 4 oz. bottle. I think I will have to go to Neiman Marcus or Nordstrom and test it out and see if I like it, then go from there. Denec pmed me 3 sites that he always gets CGIT and that was one of the sites he mentioned. I appreciate your help once again.

From my research on the matter, it seems that Scentiments.com has been one of the most highly rated discount fragrance sites for Creed. That's coming from Basenotes people who have bought it and put up feedback on the forums. Just thought i'd let ya know.

Damn you're good lol...You're 2-0....Denec recommended that site as well, but I believe that store is currently out of stock of CGIT 4 oz. bottles . Yep just checked. They are temporarily out of stock.

I have a question

Can men tell if a women is wearing a knock off perfume. I mean if I were wearing say pink sugar or one of my other favorites but it was a dupe would you know?

I think maybe just people really into perfume or cologne would but not your everyday person. Not if the dupe smells good at least.

I tend to get more compliments with dupes or very unique scents then I do with expensive perfumes.

Just wondering..........

Tisha

Tisha
Good question Tisha. Perfumes/colognes/fragrances/scents etc. has been a recent big hobby of mine. I just love to smell nice, and love a sexy perfume on a girl. It just adds that extra touch I think . As far as a knock off perfume goes, as you said I think only a true conossieur or someone with lots of experience and passion in this field can tell the difference, and your avg. joe such as myself wouldn't be able to say "Hey now Tisha, you're wearing that knock off pink sugar now today aren't you, you clever woman" I say if the dupe smells almost identical, then just save lots of money and go with the more affordable version. Just my 2 cents on that subject. Unless you're one of those women that has to get their name brand stuff (Gucci, Chanel, etc) so they have that pride factor, then I would just stay with the dupes that you love. Plus you said you get more compliments with it, so its a win win situation.

Tisha with authentic perfume vs Tisha with a clone perfume. Only one way to find out. As always I volunteer my services since I'm such a gentleman.

Default Re: Creed Green Irish Tweed Prices...Too Good to be True?

Let me tell you something about Creed in general.

Since Creed uses a higher percentage of natural ingredients then most perfumes and uses less synthetics, it is possible to get a bad bottle much more often then buying your regular dept. store cologne.

That is one reason for the high prices, and another reason is marketing.

The reason I mention that is you want to purchase from a well known retailer whether it be Saks, Bergdorf/Neimans or a well known online vendor with an easy exchange policy if you do get a bad bottle. It does happen. Not a lot, but it happens more with Creeds then probably other houses.

How do I know? Well in my time it happened to me twice, I bought a bad bottle of Himalaya from Saks, and bought a bad bottle of Green Irish Tweed from my last purchase.

But the great thing about both places was easy exchange/returns. For example I know with Sentiments/Frangrancenet they have a no hassle easy exchange policy just like Androtics.

When I got my bad bottle I called up fragrancenet, and told them I would like to exchange, they emailed me right away a pre-paid USPS priority shipping label. It got there in 1 day since I am in NY. That same day they shipped out another Green Irish Tweed and I got mine next day service.

I know Scentiments has the same easy going return policy.

When you are spending this money on a high quality cologne you want to make sure you are getting that cologne.

So what am I getting at? I really do not know about those other places you linked, never ordered but I rather pay a little but more and get peace of mind.

Tisha

More then likely not if it smells good unless the person is a hobbyist, I don't like dupes only because I have no idea what is being put in them and if it safe

I have heard of dangerous chemicals being used in knockoffs depending upon where you getting it

Many times from what i heard but i am not an expert with dupes since i stay away is that the topnotes smell great then it fades away, other times you will not get the longevity, of a real cologne or perfume

I know in Chinatown, NYC they are well known for their imitations and knockoffs and I stay so far away from them

I also stay away from the perfume district in midtown because half of them are dupes and so hard to tell real from the fakes
