Default Cologne not Cologne but Toilette

I thought I had a bottle of cologne but it's not cologne, it's "Eau de Toilette". According to wikipedia, "Eau de Toilette" is more concentrated than "Eau de cologne".

Everyone seems to talk about cologne to cover their pheromones but does anyone here use "Eau de Toilette" instead?

Doesn't matter, anything with scent can be used. I use Black Phoenix Alchemy Labs scents and they're not considered cologne but perfume oils. As long as it has scent it can be used, even something like Axe.

Cologne to me is pretty much a word I refer to any scent for a male really, as saying perfume is pretty much thought of as something a girl would wear. It's easier to say cologne too then get specific and say "Eau de Toilette." Unless you're specifically using perfume oils like I do.

As miko said, I think nowadays "eau de toilette" is just used as a fancy schmancy word for cologne. Most men's colognes that I've seen are billed as "eau de toilette."

Default Re: Cologne not Cologne but Toilette

However, if you want to get specific each category for example "Eau de Toilette" just means the strength of the scent (cologne/scent/whatever.)

Perfume extract (Extrait): 15-40% (IFRA: typical 20%) aromatic compounds
Eau de Parfum (EdP), Parfum de Toilette (PdT): 10-20% (typical ~15%) aromatic compounds. Sometimes listed as "eau de perfume" or "mill├ęsime".
Eau de Toilette (EdT): 5-15% (typical ~10%) aromatic compounds
Eau de Cologne (EdC): Chypre citrus type perfumes with 3-8% (typical ~5%) aromatic compounds
Splash and After shave: 1-3% aromatic compounds
