Default best perfume for men

I am an ametuer when it comes to scent and aftershave. I wear kouros and hugo boss.

But i want to change, i get a lot of compliments when i wear them but i want to wear something different and sexy, for men.

What would you nice people recommend. (As long as it does not smell like ysatis).

Kudos for Kouros choice! Read some of Tacitus' post for great cologne recommendations.

Musc Ravageur by Frederic Malle is a must try I think. Colognes by L'Artisan, Montale, Creed, Villoresi etc. are highly recommended.

Some of them can get pretty expensive though. Ultimately it depends on what you like and can afford. You can go to your local fragrance store and try a few.

Since you're posting from England you may want to check around for some of the Crown Perfumery fragrances for men. Crown is out of business but they made some very good stuff under a royal warrant for many years. You'll not find many wearing them since they are no longer produced. You may even find some very good buys on old stock. They're out there if you look.

Arcus by Amouage
Pheros by DrSmellthis

Muscs Koublai Khan can be dangerous ....

On the "normal" end of the spectrum ...

The Burberrys seem pretty popular, the Armanis are always a favorite, Black by Kenneth Cole, the list goes on .....

Thumbs up Some personal favorites -

Twice by Iceberg - Spicey/musky after it settles. It's a great cologne for the price.
Oxygene by Lanvin - nice light fruity fragrance best worn in warm weather
Burberry's Weekend - same as above only more lemony.
Body Kouros - smells a lot like Rochas Man only smokier and classier in my opinion. Best worn in cooler weather/evenings. I wouldn't wear this casually.
Cristobal - Vaguely similar to Joop!, only more subtle and classier. Great for romantic evenings.

If you want to really stand out try to find some body oils made by Oriscent.com. Unfortunately they only sell aloeswood/oud these days. I'll miss their Wild Amber.

Hugo by Hugo Boss is a really good perfume. Have you tried Jean Paul Gaultier's Le Male... it is a very nice perfume.

The best can be found at a popular women's lingerie store it's called very sexy for him , and aqua by Armani is always complimented by the ladies. I'd like to try that Royal stuff stuff someone suggested must be good!
